제 1 장 총칙

제 1 조 (목적)

본 연구출판 윤리규정은 대한명상의학회에서 발간하는 학술지 ‘명상의학’ (Korean Journal of Meditation in Medicine)에 연구결과를 게재하고자 논문 등을 제출하거나, 이를 심사, 평가, 출판할 때, 연구출판의 부정행위를 방지하고 윤리성을 확보하는데 필요한 연구자 및 심사자의 역할과 책임에 관한 원칙과 방향을 제시함을 목적으로 한다.

제 2 조 (적용 대상)

본 규정은 ‘명상의학’에 제출된 논문, 기고문, 편지, 기타 관련 자료 및 제반 문건을 대상으로 한다.

 

제 2 장 출판 윤리

제 1 조

논문의 부당한 저자 추가에 대한 의혹이 있는 경우에는 편집위원회는 교신저자에게 저자들의 구체적인 연구내용 이 무엇인지를 밝히라고 요구할 수 있다.

제 2 조

연구자는 해당연구에 대한 재정적인 지원뿐만 아니라 사적인 이해관계를 밝혀야 한다.

제 3 조

제출된 원고와 동일 또는 유사한 원고는 원칙적으로 다른 학술지에 게재할 수 없다.

제 4 조

이미 출판된 Figure, graph 등을 인용할 경우 원저자의 동의를 얻어야 하며 그 사실을 논문에 명시한다.

제 5 조

① 본 규정에서 "특수관계인"이란 미성년자(만 19세 이하인 자) 또는 가족(배우자, 자녀 등 4촌 이내의 혈족·인척)을 말한다.

② 특수관계인이 공동저자로 포함된 논문을 투고하는 경우, 교신저자는 투고 시 특수관계인의 성명 및 관계, 구체적인 연구 기여 내역, 개인정보 제공 및 조사에 관한 사전 동의 여부를 편집위원회에 서면으로 신고하여야 한다.

③ 편집위원회는 특수관계인이 포함된 논문에 대해 내부심사를 강화하거나 추가 심사위원을 위촉할 수 있다.

④ 특수관계인 공동저자의 연구부정행위가 확정된 경우, 편집위원회는 해당 논문을 취소 또는 철회하고, 특수관계인 저자가 해당 논문으로 이익을 취한 관계기관(입시·진학 관련 학교, 연구 관련 기관 등)에 연구부정행위 사실을 공식 서한으로 통보하여야 한다.

⑤ 제4항의 관계기관 통보를 위하여 특수관계인 저자의 개인정보 제공 동의를 투고 시 사전에 확보하여야 한다.

제 6 조 

① 편집위원은 자신이 저자이거나 소속이 동일한 논문, 또는 그 밖의 이해상충이 있는 논문의 심사·게재 결정 과정에 참여할 수 없다.

② 편집위원은 이해상충이 있다고 판단되는 경우 편집위원장에게 즉시 서면으로 신고하고 해당 논문의 처리 과정에서 회피하여야 한다.

③ 편집위원장은 이해상충이 있는 논문의 처리를 다른 편집위원에게 위임하거나 외부 전문가에게 심사를 의뢰할 수 있다.

④ 이해상충 신고 내용은 기록으로 보존한다.

 

 

제 3 장 연구 윤리

제 1 조

제출되는 원고 중 인간을 대상으로 하는 모든 연구는 당해 기관의 연구윤리 심의위원회(institutional review board)의 승인 여부를 기술하여야 한다. 제출되는 원고 중 동물 실험을 포함하는 연구는 동물 이용에 관한 위원회 (animal utilization committee)나 상응하는 위원회의 승인 여부를 기술하여야 한다.

제 2 조

인간을 대상으로 하는 연구는 반드시 헬싱키 선언(http://www.wma.net)에 근거한 임상시험의 윤리적 원칙들을 준수하여야 하고 해당 기관의 임상연구심의위원회(Institutional Review Board)에서 승인되었음을 명기하여야 한다.

제 3 조

동물을 대상으로 하는 실험연구는 해당 기관의 동물실험윤리위원회(animal utilization committee) 심의를 받았거나 NIH Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals(1996, ILAR [Institute of Laboratory Animal Resources] Committee on NRC, National Academic Press pp125, www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/labrats/index. html)에 저촉되지 않았음을 기술하여야 한다.

제 4 조

편집위원회는 필요 시 환자동의서 및 해당 윤리위원회 승인서의 제출을 요구할 수 있다.

제 5 조

본 윤리규정에 기술되지 않은 연구윤리규정은 대한의학학술지편집인협의회의 “의학논문 출판윤리 가이드라인 (www.kamje.or.kr)”, “Good Publication Practice Guidelines for Medical Journals(http://kamje.or.kr/publishing_ethics.html)”, “Guidelines on Good Publication (http://www.publicationethics.org.uk/guidelines)” 등을 준용한다.

제 6 조

연구 또는 출판윤리를 위반한 논문이 발생한 경우에는 영국 의 Committee on Publication Ethics(COPE)에서 제시하는 “guidelines on good publication practice” 를 따른다.
① 단순한 원칙에 대한 몰이해로 인한 경우 교육적 내용을 담은 설명 서한을 발송
② 견책(reprimand)의 편지와 함께 향후 부정행위에 대한 경고 서한 발송
③ 소속 기관장이나 연구비 지원기관에 공식 서한 발송
④ 중복출판(redundant publication)이나 표절(plagiarism)에 대한 공지의 글 발간
⑤ 부정행위의 전모에 대한 편집인의 글 발간
⑥ 부정행위의 책임이 있는 개인, 단위, 및 기관에 대하여 일 정기간 동안 원고 투고의 금지
⑦ 학술지로부터 해당 논문의 공식적 철회(withdrawal) 혹은 취소(retraction)와 함께 타 학술지 편집인 및 색인기관에 통보
⑧ 적법절차에 따라 조사와 조치를 취할 수 있는 General Medical Council이나 유사 기관에 보고

제 7 조

게재된 원고에 대한 윤리적, 법률적 책임은 저자에게 있다.

제 8 조 

① 연구부정행위에 대한 조사는 해당 행위가 발생한 시점 또는 논문이 게재된 시점에 관계없이 제보 또는 인지 즉시 실시할 수 있으며, 시효의 제한을 두지 아니한다.

② 이미 출판된 논문에 대하여 부정행위 의혹이 제기된 경우에도 동일하게 적용한다.

③ 부정행위 조사 결과 사실이 아닌 것으로 밝혀진 경우, 제보자 및 피조사자의 명예 회복을 위한 적절한 조치를 취하여야 한다.




제 4 장 인공지능 지원 기술(AI-assisted technology)에 대한 연구 윤리 (2026.1.1 신설)

 

제 1 조

인공지능(artificial intelligence, AI) 지원 기술의 사용은 맞춤법, 문법, 데이터 수집, 분석 과정, 도표 생성에서만 허용한다.


제 2 조

저자는 인공지능 지원 기술(예: 대형 언어 모델, 챗봇 등)의 사용 여부를 제출한 원고에서 공개해야 한다. 저자는 인공지능의 글쓰기 보조 사용에 대해 감사의 글(Acknowledgements) 섹션에 설명해야 한다. 데이터 수집, 분석 과정 또는 도표 생성에 인공지능을 사용한 경우에는 재료 및 방법(Materials and Methods) 섹션에 상세하게 과정을 설명해야 한다.


제 3 조

논문의 정확성, 진실성 및 독창성에 대한 책임은 궁극적으로 저자에게 있으며, 챗봇 또는 기타 인공지능 지원 기술은 저자로 기재될 수 없다.


제 4 조

인공지능 사용에 대한 내용을 충분히 공개하지 않은 모든 제출물 또는 출판물은 심사 과정에서 거부되거나 출판 후 철회될 수 있다.


제 5 조 

① 심사위원은 투고 원고의 내용을 대형언어모델(LLM), 챗봇, 기타 생성형 인공지능 도구에 입력하여서는 아니 된다.

② 심사위원이 AI 도구를 문법·문헌 검색 등 보조적 목적으로 활용한 경우에는 그 사실과 범위를 편집위원회에 고지하여야 한다.

③ 본 조를 위반한 심사위원에 대해서는 편집위원회가 심사 참여를 배제하고, 필요한 경우 소속 기관에 통보할 수 있다.




Research and Publication Ethics

 

Chapter 1. General Provisions

Article 1. Purpose

These Research and Publication Ethics Regulations are intended to present the principles and responsibilities of researchers and reviewers necessary to prevent research and publication misconduct and to ensure ethical integrity when submitting, reviewing, evaluating, and publishing manuscripts and other works in the journal Korean Journal of Meditation in Medicine published by the Korean Society of Meditation in Medicine.

Article 2. Scope of Application

These regulations apply to manuscripts, articles, letters, and any other related materials and documents submitted to Korean Journal of Meditation in Medicine.



Chapter 2. Publication Ethics

Article 1

If there is suspicion of inappropriate authorship addition, the Editorial Board may ask the corresponding author to clarify the specific contributions made by each author.

Article 2

Researchers must disclose not only all sources of financial support for the study but also any personal conflicts of interest.

Article 3

A manuscript that is identical or substantially similar to a submitted manuscript may not, in principle, be published in another journal.

Article 4

When citing previously published figures or graphs, the original author’s permission must be obtained, and this must be stated in the manuscript.

Article 5

  • For the purposes of these regulations, "special-relationship persons" refers to minors (individuals aged 19 or under) or family members (spouse, children, and blood relatives or relatives by marriage within four degrees of kinship).
  • When submitting a manuscript that includes a special-relationship person as a co-author, the corresponding author must notify the editorial board in writing at the time of submission, providing the following information: the name and relationship of the special-relationship person; a detailed account of the special-relationship person's specific contributions to the research; and confirmation of prior consent regarding the provision of personal information and any related investigation.
  • The editorial board may strengthen internal review or appoint additional peer reviewers for manuscripts that include special-relationship co-authors.
  • If research misconduct by a special-relationship co-author is confirmed, the editorial board shall take the following measures: cancellation or retraction of the relevant paper; official written notification of the confirmed research misconduct to any institution from which the special-relationship author has derived benefit from the paper (including schools related to university admissions or academic advancement, and research-related institutions); and notification to relevant journal editors and indexing agencies.
  • In order to notify the relevant institutions as provided in paragraph ④, prior consent for the provision of the personal information of the special-relationship author must be obtained at the time of manuscript submission.

Article 6

  • Editorial board members may not participate in the peer review or publication decision process for any manuscript in which they are listed as an author, affiliated with the same institution as the author, or otherwise have a conflict of interest.
  • If an editorial board member determines that a conflict of interest exists, the member must immediately notify the editor-in-chief in writing and withdraw from all proceedings related to that manuscript.
  • The editor-in-chief may delegate the handling of a manuscript involving a conflict of interest to another editorial board member or commission an external expert to conduct the review.
  • All conflict of interest disclosures shall be recorded and retained.






Chapter 3. Research Ethics

Article 1

All studies involving human subjects must state whether approval was obtained from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the relevant institution. Studies involving animal experiments must state whether approval was obtained from the Animal Care and Use Committee or an equivalent committee.

Article 2

Studies involving human subjects must comply with the ethical principles for clinical research based on the Declaration of Helsinki (http://www.wma.net) and must indicate that approval was obtained from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the relevant institution.

Article 3

Experimental studies involving animals must state that they were reviewed by the Animal Care and Use Committee of the relevant institution, or that they did not violate the NIH Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (1996, ILAR [Institute of Laboratory Animal Resources] Committee on NRC, National Academic Press, pp. 125; www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/labrats/index.html).

Article 4

The Editorial Board may request submission of patient consent forms and approval documents from the relevant ethics committee when necessary.

Article 5

For matters not specified in these Research Ethics Regulations, the journal shall follow the “Ethical Guidelines for Medical Journal Publication” of the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors (www.kamje.or.kr), the “Good Publication Practice Guidelines for Medical Journals” (http://kamje.or.kr/publishing_ethics.html), and the “Guidelines on Good Publication” (http://www.publicationethics.org.uk/guidelines), among others.

Article 6

If a violation of research or publication ethics is identified in a published paper, the journal shall follow the “Guidelines on Good Publication Practice” issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in the United Kingdom, including the following actions:

  1. Sending an explanatory letter with educational content in cases arising from simple misunderstanding of the principles.
  2. Sending a letter of reprimand together with a warning about future misconduct.
  3. Sending an official letter to the head of the affiliated institution or the research funding agency.
  4. Publishing a notice regarding redundant publication or plagiarism.
  5. Publishing an editorial expressing the full extent of the misconduct.
  6. Prohibiting the responsible individual, unit, or institution from submitting manuscripts to the journal for a specified period.
  7. Issuing an official retraction or withdrawal of the paper by the journal and notifying other journal editors and indexing agencies.
  8. Reporting to the General Medical Council or a similar body that can investigate and take appropriate action in accordance with due process.

Article 7

The ethical and legal responsibility for published manuscripts rests with the authors.

Article 8

  • Investigations into research misconduct may be initiated immediately upon receipt of a report or upon the editorial board's own recognition, regardless of when the misconduct occurred or when the paper was published. No statute of limitations shall apply.
  • The same shall apply when allegations of misconduct are raised concerning papers that have already been published.
  • In cases where an investigation concludes that the alleged misconduct did not occur, appropriate measures shall be taken to restore the reputation of both the reporting party and the person under investigation.



Chapter 4. Research Ethics for AI-Assisted Technology

Article 1

The use of artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted technology is permitted only for spelling and grammar correction, data collection, data analysis, and figure generation.

Article 2

Authors must disclose the use of AI-assisted technology, such as large language models and chatbots, in the submitted manuscript. Authors should describe the use of AI for writing assistance in the Acknowledgements section. If AI was used for data collection, data analysis, or figure generation, the process must be described in detail in the Materials and Methods section.

Article 3

The responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the manuscript ultimately rests with the authors, and chatbots or other AI-assisted technologies may not be listed as authors.

Article 4

Any submission or publication that fails to adequately disclose the use of AI may be rejected during review or retracted after publication.

Article 5

  • Peer reviewers must not input the content of submitted manuscripts into large language models (LLMs), chatbots, or other generative artificial intelligence tools. This prohibition exists to protect the confidentiality of manuscripts and the intellectual property rights of authors.
  • If a peer reviewer uses AI tools for auxiliary purposes such as grammar checking or literature searching, the reviewer must notify the editorial board of this fact and the scope of such use.
  • Peer reviewers who violate this article may be excluded from future review activities by the editorial board and, where necessary, the relevant facts may be reported to the reviewer's affiliated institution.
